Making a quote online usually means three things: you create it in a program instead of Word, you send it as a link or PDF, and the customer can view or sign it online. What do you need for that?
1. A fixed foundation
Set up your company details, logo, payment term and standard terms once. Then you never type them again.
2. Your own products and prices
A quote is only as good as the prices in it. Work from a list of your items, ideally imported from Excel or your accounting, so you are not searching every time.
3. A fast way to fill the lines
This takes the most time. The more you can reuse (items, standard lines, calculation formulas), the faster the quote is done.
4. A place to send it and have it signed
A link where the customer opens, reviews and approves the quote is nicer than a PDF that has to be printed, signed and scanned. You can also see whether it was opened.
5. A follow-up step
After approval you want to create an invoice without typing everything again.
What you do not need
A large package full of features of which you use two. Start simple and pick something that fits how you work.
Dealnote does all five: company details, products, lines from the conversation, customer link with signature, and invoice. Start free or read the documentation.
