Following up after the quote: stay visible without pushing

Most quotes sit waiting, not because the customer says no, but because nobody does anything.

After sending a quote, often nothing happens. That is rarely because of a "no", usually busyness or doubt. So following up is part of selling.

First know where the quote stands

Was the quote opened? Viewed? Not seen yet? That decides your next step. A customer who hasn't opened needs a reminder. A customer who has looked but doesn't sign has a question.

A simple rhythm

  1. Day 0: send the quote and name the next step ("I'll call you Thursday").
  2. Day 2 to 3: a short check that everything is clear.
  3. Day 7: a call or message with a concrete question, for example about planning.
  4. After that: close it, politely. "I assume it doesn't fit now; let me know if that changes."

Make it easy for the customer

The fewer steps to a signature, the better. An online link works better than a PDF to print.

In Dealnote's overview you see which quotes are open and which need attention, per salesperson.
