In painting everything revolves around surface area. How many m² of wall, ceiling or frame, and what does it cost to finish it neatly? Here is how to build the quote.
1. Measure and record
Note the dimensions per room or part: walls, ceiling, window frames, doors, skirting. Take photos of the current state. That helps with the explanation later.
2. Decide the work per part
For each part you choose the approach: sanding, priming, one or two coats, filling, repairs. A different approach means a different price.
3. Calculate with fixed norms
Record per task how many hours and how much material you need per m², for example *painting walls, two coats*. With a fixed norm you do not have to estimate and can work out a new quote in minutes.
4. Split the lines
- Preparation and masking
- Painting per part
- Materials (paint, primer, filler)
- Possibly scaffolding or moving furniture
5. Make clear what is not included
Think of moving heavy furniture, repairing underlying damage and extra coats with poorly covering colours.
Example line
*Living room walls, prime and two coats of latex, 38 m² at €9.50 per m²* (fictional amount).
In Dealnote you record such a norm once as a calculation rule. The AI takes the number of m² from the conversation, and the formula works out the rest. Read more about calculation rules.
