Seven things that belong in every quote

A complete quote is signed faster and leads to less discussion afterwards.

A good quote answers in advance the questions the customer would otherwise still ask. Use this checklist.

The list

  1. Who and for whom: your company name, address, chamber of commerce and VAT number, and the customer's name and address.
  2. A clear subject: what is going to happen, in one sentence.
  3. Specification: description, quantity and price per line.
  4. Total and VAT: show the amount excluding and including VAT.
  5. Validity: until when does the price apply?
  6. Payment terms: term, and for large jobs possibly a deposit.
  7. Agreements and conditions: planning, what is not included, and your general terms.

One extra tip

Put a short summary at the top: what was discussed and what was agreed. The customer then sees you listened.

In Dealnote you enter company details, payment term, footers and standard agreements once. They then appear on every quote automatically.
