Landscapers work with lots of variation: paving, planting, lawns, fences, lighting. The quote must show clearly what is included.
Start with the sketch
During the conversation, record what the customer wants: layout, materials, planting and budget. A sketch or photos help to support agreements later.
Divide the quote into parts
- Groundwork and preparation, such as excavation, levelling and removal of soil.
- Paving and hard surfaces, per m².
- Planting and lawn, with species, size and quantity.
- Boundaries and structures, such as fences, pergolas or decking.
- Lighting and water, possibly irrigation.
- Maintenance after handover, if you offer it.
Calculating with norms
Many parts you calculate per m²: paving, lawn, groundwork. Record per type which materials and hours belong, and the price is fixed as soon as you know the dimensions. A quantity goes wrong quickly if you estimate everything by heart.
Season and schedule
Planting is seasonal and the weather plays a part. State when you can start and what happens in weather that delays the work.
Scope
State what is not included, for example removing existing trees, soil that proves contaminated or maintenance after the first months.
With Dealnote you calculate m² work automatically with calculation rules, and add photos of the garden to the conversation. See construction and maintenance.
