Quotes become reliable when they run on your own items and prices. For that you need a tidy product list.
Which columns you need
- Item number (SKU): unique per product.
- Description: as the customer reads it on the quote.
- Price: one column, optionally the purchase price separately.
- Unit: piece, metre, m², hour.
Common mistakes
- Duplicate item numbers or empty rows between products.
- Prices as text ("€ 12,50") instead of as a number.
- Several prices in one cell.
- Merged cells and headings in the middle of the list.
Start small
First import your ten most used items and make a quote with them. Works? Then the rest.
Dealnote imports Excel and CSV and usually recognises column names itself. Do you have an ERP or stock system? Then you can also keep the catalogue up to date through the API.
