A bathroom renovation consists of many parts: demolition, plumbing, tiling, sanitary ware, electrics. A good quote makes that clear.
Divide the quote into phases
- Preparation and demolition. Removing old sanitary ware, tiles and any drainage.
- Plumbing and electrics. Water, drainage, heating, lighting and ventilation.
- Walls and floors. Levelling, waterproofing, tiling and grouting.
- Sanitary ware and fittings. Shower, toilet, basin, taps and furniture.
- Finishing. Sealing, painting and handover.
What must be clear
- Who supplies what? Does the customer supply tiles and sanitary ware, or do you? Put it on each line.
- Provisional sums. Is the price of tiles or sanitary ware not yet known? Use a provisional sum and record up to what amount.
- Invisible work. What you only see during the work, such as a poor substrate, can lead to extra work. Agree beforehand how you charge for it.
- Schedule. How long is the bathroom out of use?
Tips for a fast quote
- Measure the room and take photos of what you see, including pipes and the meter cupboard.
- Use calculation rules for tiling per m² and wall finishing.
- State clearly what is not included.
With Dealnote you capture the conversation and photos and turn them straight into a quote. More for construction and maintenance.
